      <head>Historical Note</head>
      <p>Charles T. Sacket (d. 1936) was a Livingston, Montana engineer. He served in the U.S. Army
        in World War I and settled in Montana shortly after his discharge in 1919. Married to
        Berenice Geer Sacket in Chicago, 1917, the couple had one son, Charles Jr. (1918-1943).</p>
    </bioghist>
    <scopecontent encodinganalog="5202_">
      <p>The Cooke City mining district maps in this collection were all allegedly drawn by Sacket,
        although three predate his residence in Livingston. The maps show geographic features as
        well as mining claim boundaries.</p>
