Box 1 documents Mrs. Dyer's early involvement in conservation issues, replacing Bill Degenhardt as Mountaineer representative on Governor Langlie's Olympic National Park Review Committee. Box 2 is a student project, 1970, the results of which were published in "Sunset", Oct. 1970.

Other issues including Alaska and other areas of the U.S. are documented, partly because of her service on the Sierra Club national board. Regarding Alaska materials: as a former resident of Alaska, Dyer was concerned about proposals to develop and protect wild areas there. She also collected material for a possible master's thesis in geography on these issues.
