The MHA is a historical association which focuses on the LDS experience. English .

The Mormon History Association was started by the professionally trained Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Historian Leonard Arrington. Begun as an affiliate of the American Historical Association in 1965, the MHA became completely independent in 1972. Two years later, the MHA began to publish the Journal of Mormon History. MHA scholars have published a variety of articles and books documenting the history of the LDS Church and the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (now Community of Christ).

The Mormon History Association records (1971-2001) consist of several newsletters published by the MHA and a conference handbook.

Twenty-four hour advanced notice encouraged. Materials must be used on-site. Access to parts of this collection may be restricted under provisions of state or federal law.
