<p>Con Price was born in 1869 in Manchester, Iowa. His father, a Civil
War veteran, died before he was ten years old. His mother remarried and the
family moved west to the Black Hills of South Dakota in 1878. Price got his
first job as a cowboy in 1885 near Belle Fouche, South Dakota. He moved west to
Montana in 1887 and continued to work on various ranches as a cowboy. Price and
Claudia Toole eloped and were married in Shelby, Montana, in late 1899. Toole's
uncle, Joseph K. Toole, was the governor of Montana at the time. Price
		  published two memoirs entitled
		<title>Memories of Old Montana</title> in 1945 and
		<title>Trails I Rode</title> in 1947.
<title>Trails I Rode</title> contains art work by Charles Russell, a
		personal friend of Con Price.</p>
