In 1934 he was a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor. Collection contains correspondence, 1906-1940, mainly concerning business of the Legislature and the 1934 race for governor. Also included are the letters of George M. Battersby, Co. M, 20th Regiment, Kansas Volunteer Infantry, 1898-1899, from the West Coast and the Philippine Islands.</abstract>
