Historical NoteReturn to Top

Wu Ziying (1943-) is a musician, teacher, and guqin master who prefers traditional techniques over the newer Western influences. His personal style was influenced by guqin masters Wang Jiru, Wu Jinglue, Zha Fuxi, Sun Zongpeng, Xu Lisun, and Gu Meigeng. During his career he has served as a professor of traditional Chinese Music at Shanghai Normal University, director of the Shanghai Qin Association, and Visiting Artist-in-Residence at the University of Washington. His performance repertoire primarily centers around the Mei'an and Wu schools of guqin.
