Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Ustad Yunus Hussain Khan (1927-1991) was a vocalist, composer, and teacher from Agra, India. Between 1962 and 1964, he worked with All India Radio as a composer and left a variety of compositions under the pen name Darpan. He is also known for being a Professor of Music at the University of Delhi. In 1985, he traveled to the United States for a year to teach ethnomusicology at the University of Washington. During his career, he published articles, papers, and books about music and ethnomusicology.
