J.R. Iakisch was an engineer employed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for more than 37 years and recipient of the department of the Interior Honor Award and Bureau of Reclamation Citation of Meritorious Service. Following retirement, he served as a drainage and ground water consultant to national and foreign governments.

This collection contains biographical information about Iakisch; certificates and awards; correspondence (1949-1957); photographs portraying stages of construction of the Ogden River Project and the Shoshone Dam (later renamed the Buffalo Bill Dam); various maps, charts, Publications and reports by the U.S Bureau of Reclamation and Iakisch on groundwater and drainage, irrigation and dams (1927-1960); and 3 trip logs by Iakisch.
