Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Deva Wells is a scholar, ethnomusicologist, and doctor of internal medicine. She received his Bachelors in neurobiology and her Medical Doctorate from the University of Washington, Seattle. During her undergraduate career, she met with local musicians in Cuba and made recordings of their music, which were later played on local Puget Sound radio stations. Her work in Cuba focused primarily on Afro-Cuban music, which she has been passionate about since high school.
