Books designed and bound by students in a course on 15th- and 16th-century European art taught by Carol Janson and Elsi Vassdal-Ellis at Western Washington University in 2009. Many of the books are modern interpretations of European medieval manuscripts and provide examples of various binding structures. Two examples of books bound in the style of medieval girdle books are available.
