Biographical NoteReturn to Top

William T. Beeks, Jr. (1934-2015) was a civil servant, attorney, investor, philanthropist and mentor. He was born in Seattle to Florence Carlson Beeks and The Hon. William T. Beeks, Sr. He graduated from the University of Washington and George Washington University Law School, following which he worked in Washington D.C., often serving at the pleasure of Senators Warren G. Magnuson and Henry M. Jackson. He eventually retired from the civil service after a long career in legal advisory capacities for the U.S. Government. During his early career, he developed a side interest in investment properties, eventually amassing a considerable portfolio in Washington, Colorado and California. Post-retirement afforded him time to enhance stock market skills, which further enabled his true passion, philanthropy. While an unassuming benefactor to numerous humanitarian, animal and arts organizations for many years, following the deaths of his parents he created a charitable foundation in their name, the Florence and William T. Beeks, Las Brisas Foundation.
