Eleanor Schuhmann was from Claremont, California. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schuhmann. She spent five years in Kenai, Alaska as a missionary from her church, Grace Fundamental Church in Pomona, California.

Album of photographs, ephemera, and clippings about Eleanor Schuhmann during her trip to Los Angeles from Kenai, Alaska. Photographs are of family members, friends, and church members. The album also has greeting cards, letters, and newspaper clippings about Miss Schuhmann and on national events. Miss Schuhmann was a member of the Grace Fundamental Church in Pomona. She served three and a half years of missionary work in Kenai where she helped start an orphanage, the Kenai Mission home. She arrived in Los Angeles in September 1940 to visit families and was invited to give speeches about her experience in Alaska and her missionary work, including the Kenai Mission home. She returned to Alaska in February 1941 to continue her missionary work.
