Win McCormack is a writer, publisher, and political activist, focusing on cults and politics. He is the publisher and editor-in-chief for Tin House Magazine and Tin House Books. He received a BA in government from Harvard and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Oregon in 1962.

While working as the editor-in-chief at the Oregon Magazine, McCormack wrote several pieces on the Rajneesh and was awarded the William Allen White Award for his coverage of the Rajneesh from 1982 to 1986.

Win McCormack wrote The Rajneesh Chronicles in 1987 and then republished in 2010. It is a collection of articles written about the Rajneesh in the Oregon Magazine.

Win McCormack is the Chair of the Oregon Democratic Party's President's Council and was a member of the Obama for President Finance Committee. He also served as the Chair of the Oregon Steering Committee for Gary Hart in 1984.

Collection contains Win McCormack's research material regarding the Rajneesh cult in the early 1980s. The files contain notes, newspaper clippings primarily from 1982 – 1986, legal files, and interview sound recordings. The newspaper clippings are primarily from the Oregonian or Newsweek magazine.

The legal paperwork includes indictments, land use issues, and search warrants against Rajneesh Puram in Oregon and a wellness center in Laguna, California.
