Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Edward Wapp Jr., of the Comanche Nation and the Sac and Fox Nation, was a pianist, flautist, performer, and teacher. A long-time educator, Wapp Jr. taught music and arts/culture at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, New Mexico for over 25 years and helped many hundreds of Indigenous students learn how to sing, drum, dance, compose and understand the gift of music. He received a degree in ethnomusicology, and majored in Native American music at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
