The collection contains administrative materials, meeting minutes and articles documenting the activities and concerns of Northwest Proud, a coalition of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender groups in Whatcom County, Washington. Records document Northwest Proud and community responses to announcements by Reverend Fred Phelps (of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas) that he would protest a 2001 graduation ceremony at Ferndale High School following election of a lesbian student as prom king.
