Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Nathan Ignatius Neubauer (1870-1966) was a Jewish merchant in Wenatchee, Washington. He married Sadye Harris. Two of their children were Marcus and Ronald. Neubauer had business interests in the Mission Investment Company, the Neubauer Building Company, and the Wenatchee Department Store, which he founded in 1902. He sold his department store to J.C. Penny Co. in 1941. He was also active on behalf of the United Jewish Appeal.

This collection contains photographs from the life of Nathan I. Neubauer. Most of the images are of his immediate and extended family. There are also views of his home in Wenatchee, Washington and the Wenatchee Department Store including Buster Brown and his dog Tige performing at the store.
