Film elements relating to two titles produced by Ken Levine and Iris Day Films.
Northwest Visionaries (1979) is a documentary featuring the work of several Pacific Northwest artists, including Mark Tobey, Kenneth Callahan, Morris Graves, Guy Anderson, Paul Horiuchi, Helmi Juvonen, and George Tsutakawa. Artists are interviewed in their studios. Features early film clips of Mark Tobey.
Becoming American (1983) documents the adaptation of a Hmong refugee family from northern Laos to life in America, where everything is culturally alien and everyone is a stranger. Incorporates archival footage of the family's heritage into poignant views of the daily encounters that the members have with foreign obstacles.

Becoming American is a documentary about a Hmong family relocating from a refugee camp in Thailand to Seattle, Washington. This documentary was produced by Iris Film and Video and distributed by New Day Films. Ken Levine and Ivory Waterworth Levine were the producers. The documentary was originally released in 1983. The reels in this collection are the assorted subordinate film and audio recordings generated in the production of the film project and for subsequent releases.
