Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Mr. Arnautoff, a longshoreman and artist, was active in Local 10, ILWU, in San Francisco, and opposed Bridges and a black militant faction just preceding and during the 1971 Longshoremen's strike. He collected ephemera on that period and from the earlier history of the union. Arnautoff illustrated Herb Mills' publication "The San Francisco Waterfront." He was the son of famed painter Victor Arnautoff.
