Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Leotta Marie Foreman was born in California on March 2, 1895 to parents Bradley and Emma Foreman. As a child, she lived in Tacoma, Washington. While a student at the College of Science at the University of Washington, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She graduated in 1917. A talented pianist, Leotta also studied music at the Bush Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Illinois. Leotta married Erroll Rawson, a physician, in 1920 and continued living in the Seattle area until her death on November 8, 1984.

Botannical illustrations of plants and scenes from the Cascades in Washington. The drawings are watercolor. The botannical illustrations have the watercolor painting on the front with information on the back giving the plant name and the date of the drawing. Some have more detailed information about where it grows. Some of the drawings are of mountain scenery, lake views, and farmsteads. There is also one hand-colored photograph of Leotta Marie Foreman.
