Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Floyd T. Wood was born in Wahpeton, North Dakota on November 15, 1885. He married Augusta Krebs in Calgary, Alberta in 1913 and the couple moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1918. He worked as a clerk for an agricultural implements store and developed a keen interest in recording the weather before his death in November, 1970.

The Floyd T. Wood weather diary consists of annual records of precipitation on the Montana State University campus station from 1880 to 1969. Floyd may have gotten some of the early information from the college experiment station bulletins and compiled the later handwritten entries himself.

Typed and handwritten summaries of the annual precipitation of Bozeman Montana created by Floyd T. Wood were donated to Montana State University by Mrs. C. W. Buckingham in the winter of 1971.
