Dr. Andrea Emberly, from Alberta, Canada, is an ethnomusicologist and an associate professor at York University in Toronto, Ontario. Emberly earned a BA in music performance at the University of Alberta; an MA in music performance at Illinois State University; and an MA and a PHD in ethnomusicology at the University of Washington. Emberly's research has centered on musical cultures of childhood and how they are shaped by local, national and global influences.
