- Antone "Tony" Van Vliet became a member of the Oregon State University faculty in 1955, the director of University Placement, and an associate professor. He represented District 35 in the Oregon House as a Republican in legislative sessions from 1975 to 1993. Papers include reports, minutes, agendas and memoranda relating to various Oregon state legislative committees; correspondence regarding prospective bills, funding issues and educational programs; and budget proposals for public educational institutions.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Antone "Tony" Van Vliet was born in San Francisco in 1930. He left there for Oregon in 1948, earning a master's degree in forestry from Oregon State University and a Ph.D. at Michigan State University. He became a member of the OSU faculty in 1955, the director of University Placement, and an associate professor. He represented District 35 in the Oregon House as a Republican in legislative sessions from 1975 to 1993.
