Faiyaaz Khan served as a court musician for Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the Maharaja of Baroda. He was respected by the Baroda rulers, and was given a seat next to the Maharaja during official royal court functions.

Devendra Murdeshwar (1926-2000) was a bansuri flutist from Masur, India. In 1941, he went to Bombay to study under Pannalal Ghosh. He went on to be a staff artist at All India Radio, Delhi.
