LaVerna Askin Kimbrough (1887-1974) joined the Washington State University faculty in 1921 as an instructor of voice, and remained on the music faculty until her retirement as an associate professor in 1952. She married Herbert Kimbrough, Dean of the School of Music and Fine Arts, in 1923.
