Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Foreign Study Office was established in 1970/71. It coordinates with the Northwest Interinstitutional Council on Study Abroad and the American Heritage Association. The Foreign Study Office administered and cooperated in more than 40 international study programs in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Qualified undergraduate and graduate students enrolled concurrently at the University and abroad, earning UW credit and maintaining residency and financial aid eligibility. Quarter, semester, and academic year programs were offered. These arrangements allowed qualified UW students to enroll in regular courses at the foreign university and maintain full UW standing. The Foreign Study Office has been superseded by the International Programs and Exchanges Office.
