Historical NoteReturn to Top

James Judson Crossley (1869-1957) was a lawyer in Winterset, Iowa., a member of the Iowa State Senate, 1900-1907, and an active supporter of the statewide primary law. From 1908-1914 he was U. S. attorney, 4th District, Alaska. He then settled in Portland, Oregon He served on the Mexican border as an officer in Company C, 3d Oregon Infantry. From 1917 to 1919 he was in France and Germany, a captain with the 162d Infantry, A.E.F., serving with the 41st, 42d, and 6th divisions
