Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Paul Van Arsdel was a professor and head of the Allergy and Immunology Section in the Department of Medicine. He interned in medicine at Presbyterian Hospital before receiving a research fellowship in medicine with the University of Washington. He became a full professor for the UW in 1969. He was also elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and represented the American Academy of Allergy on the board of delegates of the American Medical Association for 20 years.

Scope and Content: Scientific and medical societies files, published and unpublished research papers, writings of others, photographs, certificates and diplomas; 1947-1991.

There are two signifcant subgroups within these papers. One is a set of files which document Van Arsdel's 20 year association with the American Academy of Allergy. The second group are writings of others which were accumulated when he edited the issue, Immunology and Allergy Clinics of North America in 1991.
