Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Armeta Hearst was an active member of the Seattle African American community. She was born in 1906 and moved to Seattle from Oakland with her husband Bennie in 1923. Bennie worked as a Pullman porter and was an avid collector of newspaper articles about African American history and life.
