Summary:Cecil Garland has worked throughout his life to protect undeveloped areas. During the 1960’s, Garland lead the effort include the Scapegoat Wilderness in the National Wilderness Preservation System. This collection contains materials from Cecil Garland’s work with the Lincoln Back Country Protective Association and his personal conservation and Forest Service work. This includes correspondence, writing, materials from the Lincoln Back Country Protective Association, general wilderness and conservation research materials, maps, various publications, photographs and two pieces of artwork.

Summary:The collection consists of family papers and business records of James Fergus, rancher, businessman, political figure and pioneer of Armells, Montana, and papers of his son Andrew Fergus. The collection also contains papers of Pamelia Dillin Fergus and her family including the Dillin, McHose and Neill families as well as correspondence of the families of the Fergus daughters including the Gilpatrick, Hamilton and Maury families. Materials consist of correspondence, financial and legal papers, business records, photos, and ephemera. The collection represents the social, political, and economic conditions of ranchers, families, businessmen and early pioneers of Montana from the 1850s to the 1920s.

Summary:Winfield E. Page was a Montana politician who served in the Montana Legislature from 1943 to 1961. He was heavily involved with the Republican Party in Missoula, Montana from the 1920s through the 1950s. This collection contains materials related to his political and professional careers including legislation, clippings, speeches, writing, photographs, and correspondence from his time in office; additionally, there is a small amount of personal material.

Summary:Kenneth Ross was a manager of the Anaconda Company's Lumber Department in Bonner, Montana. The collection contains a speech, a reminiscence of his life and career, and other documents relating to lumbering and milling in western Montana.
