Summary:The Alpine Training School scrapbook contains information on ski racing and the School. The Alpine Training School was developed in the 1960s by Marv Melville, Al Hansen and Bill Spencer to provide competent instruction for all the school members; to develop young competitors interested in qualifying for national and international meets; to provide guidance and supervision for members at all organized functions; to provide traveling expenses to local, divisional and national events, and mainly to get young people in good physical conditions to prepare for the ski season.

Summary:The Norm Burton papers (1958-1985) contain correspondence, programs, articles, news clippings, and a wooden plaque pertaining to the Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA) and the Intermountain Ski Instructors Association (ISIA). Norm Burton served as certification president, administrative vice president, and president of the Intermountain Ski Instructors Association during the 1970s and 1980s. The materials also contain information on the Miller Ski Company and Snow Basin's ski patrol.

Summary:The Intermountain Ski Instructors Association records contain materials documenting the activities of the Intermountain Ski Instructors and various other ski-related organizations, including the Professional Ski Instructors Association, the Far West Instructors, and the Rocky Mountain Ski Instructors. Included are meeting minutes, financial records, newsletters, correspondence, and reports. The Intermountain Ski Instructors Association was formed in 1950. The purpose of the organization was to promote skiing by providing competent ski instructors.

Summary:The Lou Lorenz papers (1951-1996) contain correspondence, meeting materials, legal documents, instruction manuals, booklets, magazines, newsletters, journals, directories, posters, and general ski instruction. Lorenz started teaching skiing in the 1940s. He was a ski school director at Little Mountain and Solitude, president of Intermountain Ski Instructors of America (ISIA), and a charter member of the Utah Ski Archives Advisory Board. He serves on the Alf Engen Museum Foundation Board of Directors.

Summary:The Professional Ski Instructors Association, Intermountain Division photograph collection contains photographs of the I.S.I.A demonstration team with a photocopy of an I.S.I.A. article featuring Corky Fowler as part of the team. The collection also includes a print of Isolde Collins, Executive Secretary, and photocopies of two letters, one a recommendation from a former employer and the other a cover letter for her resume. As well as, three other prints show a ski instructor's trade fair.

Summary:The D. Robert Theobald scrapbook (1968-1989) consist of a photocopy of the original documenting the skiing career of Theobald. D. Robert Theobald competed in freestyle skiing events in the 1970s. He also operated a ski school at Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah and served as an officer in national freestyle skiing organizations.
