The Jack Goodman papers (1945-1996) contain articles, reviews, and research files including drafts, final versions, notes, government publications, maps, and clippings. Includes some personal correspondence, contracts, awards, and memorabilia. Goodman is a Salt Lake City, Utah journalist and author whose primary interests include skiing, tourism, the development of national parks, and Utah architecture. He is the author of the weekly column "City View" in the Salt Lake Tribune.
The John Hoagland avalanche publications collection (1933-1990) contains published technical reports and monographs mostly from the United States Forest Service on avalanche research and the impact of avalanches on alpine skiing. Included are manuals for the National Avalance School sponsored by the Forest Service, as well as technical reports relating to avalanche control. Hoagland is a winter recreation specialist for the United States Forest Service.
