Summary:The Alan K. Engen papers (1840-2010) contain drafts and research for Engen's 1998 book For the Love of Skiing: A Visual History. Engen is the son of Alf and Evelyn Engen, Utah ski pioneers. He was a member of the University of Utah ski team, and had an extensive career as a competitive skier. Currently he is director of skiing at the Alta ski resort in Utah and president of the Alf Engen Ski Museum. The collection also includes material related to various aspects of Alf Engen's life, including articles, meeting minutes, press releases, pamphlets, correspondence, and business records relating to the Alf Engen Ski School, the Alf Engen Company, the Alf Engen Museum, Alta Ski Area, the Deseret News Ski School, and other ski-related topics.

Summary:The Solitude Ski Patrol scrapbook contains collected materials regarding staff training, staff testing, avalanche preparedness, correspondence, and news clippings. Main staff for the 1967-1968 season included Dick Frost, Jim Sewell, Dean Tucker, Steve Utley, Dick Bench, John Lee, Brent Bain and Russ Schneider.

Summary:The Utah Ski Archives Advisory Board records (1973-2012) contain correspondence, meeting agendas, auction forms, articles, art designs, brochures, memos, newsletters, and newspaper materials regarding the Ski Archives' annual fundraiser, "The Ski Affair." The Utah Ski Archives, established in 1989, was created in order to preserve a comprehensive history of skiing in Utah and the Intermountain region. The archives offer a unique opportunity for historical and contemporary research into Utah's prospering ski industry. Addendums to the Utah Ski Archives Advisory Board Records also contain materials regarding the building of the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center and the Alf Engen Ski Museum.
