Summary:The Oliver Cowdrey papers (1833-1838) consist of forty-six letters written by Cowdrey for himself or for others. Oliver Cowdrey (1806-1850) was one of six original members of the Church of Christ, later called the Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a scribe to Joseph Smith.

Summary:The John W. Young correspondence consists of four letters, two written by John W. Young to his daughter, Mary Luella Merza Young Goulding, and his granddaughter, Mary Young Victoria Goulding. The two other letters were written by Young's son, J. Wesley Young, one informing his sister of the death of their father, and the fourth written to his father while J. Wesley Young was on an LDS mission to North Carolina. Young served as a counselor to Brigham Young from 1873-1877 and as counselor to the Twelve Apostles from 1877-1891.
