Summary:The Abraham Hoagland Cannon journals (1879-1895) consist of nineteen volumes which outline details about LDS Church council meetings and his service as a apostle, political meetings, and other important issues. He recorded business ventures which included stationary and furniture stores, real estate, mining, banking, railroads, and sugar manufacturing. Polygamy is a major theme throughout his journals as well. No photocopies can be made.

Summary:The Rudger Clawson papers (1870-1943) consists of memoirs, autobiographical accounts, diaries, letter books, loose letters, scrapbooks, newspaper and periodical clippings, printed books and miscellaneous documents. Clawson was born in Salt Lake City a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Church. He served a Mission to the Southern States that ended after his companion Joseph Standing was murdered by a mob in Georgia. Clawson practiced polygamy and was the first Mormon to be imprisoned for just over three years for the practice. After his release from prison he became the Stake President for the Box Elder Stake for the LDS Church. Then as an apostle in the Council of the Twelve Apostles which he did for 45 years until his death on 21 June 1943 at the age of 86.

Summary:The William C. Seifrit papers (1848-1987) consist of research notes and writings by Seifrit. The bulk of the collection concerns the history of Utah, especially art and photographic history, documented by Seifrit on notecards and in notebooks. Information was taken mainly from early nineteenth century newspapers and magazines. Writings by Seifrit focus on Charles Henry Wilcken (1830-1915), a German deserter from Johnston's Army and friend of George Q. Cannon and Wilford Woodruff, as well as Wilcken's family.

Summary:The Reed Smoot papers (1909-1986) consist of copies of Smoot's journal as well as articles concerning his life and politics. Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a United States Senator from Utah. He filled both positions simulatneously. Boxes 1-8 cannot be photocopied.

Summary:The Erastus and Artimesia Snow papers (1818-1880) consists of one volume compilation of letters written by Artimesia to her husband, Erastus and eight journals of Erastus arranged into one volume. Erastus Snow was a Mormon apostle and missionary, an associate of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, and a Mormon pioneer in Utah. Artimesia Snow was the first of his several wives.

Summary:The Wilford Woodruff papers (1833-1898) contain a handwritten document by Woodruff regarding the successions of the Mormon Church Presidency, concerning Orson Hyde and Orson Pratt and their placement in line of succession of the LDS Church. Also included are copies of his journal as well as a revelation from 1877. Wilford Woodruff was the fourth president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
