The Alberta Henry papers (1946-2005) consist of files maintained by Alberta Henry which detail her work as President of the Salt Lake City branch of the NAACP and as a minority consultant for the Salt Lake County School District. Also included are the records of various community orgainzations of which Henry was a member, as well as the records of the Rainbow Honor Society, a multicultural student organization which she founded.
The Steven K. Madsen collection on Blacks in Utah (1879-1980) contains photocopied materials about early African Americans in Utah, especially about Green Flake and the community of Union. Included are clippings and book excerpts related to Green Flake, property records for Union, records of Union Fort Cemetery, and reminiscences by relatives of Green Flake. Also included are clippings and other materials on Blacks in the LDS Church (1965-1979).
