The Platte De Alton Lyman papers (1898-1901) consist of a diary [typescript] by Lyman and a biography of Lyman by his son, Albert R. Lyman. Platte Lyman was a cattle and horse rancher in southern Utah. He also served in various capacities in the LDS Church.
The Stephanie Young Merzel papers (1861-1948) are photocopies and transcripts of correspondence between Joseph Franklin Barton and his son, Morgan Amasa Barton, while the father was in prison for polygamy. There is also a family history by Morgan Amasa Barton, entitled The Back Door to San Juan, which discusses the family's journey through Hole in the Rock in 1855.
