Summary:The Japanese American relocation collection (1941-1945) contain materials concerned with the War Relocation Authority (WRA), the Tule Lake Relocation Center, and the Topaz Relocation Center. The collection contains correspondence, reports, statistics, magazine articles, newspaper articles, and other related material. In 1942, after the Pearl Harbor Bombing, Americans of Japanese ancestry, living on the West Coast, were ordered to relocation centers in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming; many of these camps did not close until 1945.
