Summary:The Isabel Haynes papers consist of family papers, diaries, letters, and memorabilia produced or exchanged by various Haynes family members and collected by Isabel Haynes. Subjects include Haynes family experiences in the Minneapolis, Minnesota public schools, the University of Minnesota, and interactions with families and friends in Minneapolis, Bozeman, Montana, and Yellowstone National Park. Summary:The Lida Haynes Collection contains information on life in America for a girl growing up in a wealthy family during the 1940's and early 1950's. Materials also pertain to: social life and affairs in Bozeman and Gallatin County, especially the public schools and the Gallatin County High School; Yellowstone National Park and the operations of concessionaire Jack Ellis Haynes; general information regarding Lida's activities involving aeronautics and skiing.

Haynes Family Photographs

Summary:The Haynes Family Photographs are comprised of photographs taken by F. Jay Haynes (FJH), Jack Ellis Haynes (JEH), and others during the period 1866-1969. The photographs are portraits, candid snapshots, Haynes Inc. (HInc), Haynes Picture Shops (HPS), and Haynes Studios Inc. (HSInc) photographs, and other images covering a very diverse subject matter. The vast majority of the photographs are concerned with friends and family of the of the Haynes (FJH and JEH) and Yellowstone National Park (YNP). Additionally, there are also "Cabinet and Boudoir" photographs taken by FJH as the official photographer of the Northern Pacific Railroad (NPRR) and many photographs, numbered and unnumbered, in Haynes family photo albums. Additional images include artwork prepared for Haynes brochures, artwork by illustrator Fritz Schlanze, photos of paintings by W.H. Jackson, an extensive collection of reproductions of paintings by C.M. Russell sold by HInc and HPS in YNP, and other artwork and photographs related to the area surrounding YNP and the West in general.

Summary:The Haynes Studio and Haynes Picture Shops Records consists of bound financial, stock, order, and invoice ledgers. These ledgers represent most of the official records kept by F. Jay Haynes for the financial tracking of his business as a studio photographer in Fargo, North Dakota, and Saint Paul, Minnesota, and of his photographic concession business in Yellowstone National Park.
