Summary:The Walter Cooper and Eugene F. Bunker Papers include both personal and business materials. Walter Cooper's papers contain diaries, an autobiography, business and legal papers as well as literary manuscripts he wrote. Eugene Bunker's papers deal mainly with his legal practice. They include papers and correspondence from lawsuits he filed for clients, correspondence regarding the closing of family estates, and legal papers for businesses he represented.

Summary:The Engelfried and Esler Records consist of three ledger books and a letter press book maintained by Frank Esler during his Montana residence under both of his business names. Entries include transactions at Argenta, Jefferson City, and Bozeman, notes by E. J. Owenhouse, who likely absorbed Esler's saddlery business in the 1880s, and entries dated 1877-1880.

Orison Miles Family Papers

Summary:The Orison Miles Family Papers contains correspondence written between 1868 and 1900 to Miles or his daughter, Josie, from friends and relatives in Vermont, Illinois, and Montana. Also included are miscellaneous family papers, and four photographs, probably of Orison, Philander, and Louisa Miles, taken by photographer E. H. (Earl) Train of Helena, Montana.

Minnie Paugh Oral History Collection

Summary:The interviews represented in this collection are an eclectic mix of Montana citizens sought out by Paugh in her attempts to document the state's history. Never a trained interviewer, and a recording technician of limited competence at best, Paugh's interviews are uneven and represented by complete transcriptions, partial transcriptions, summary notes, and sometimes only by the tape itself. Montana places mentioned include: Fergus County, Gallatin County, Madison County, Powder River County, Bercail, Bozeman, Broadus, Browning, Butte, Fort Custer, Judith Gap, Lewistown, Two Dot, and Wisdom. Subjects include sheep and cattle ranching, homesteading, electric power generation, education, Battle of the Big Hole, the Yellowstone Expedition of 1869, Sisika Indians, Chippewa Cree Indians, and commerce.
