Summary: | The A-Board historical photograph collection consists of around 8800 images mounted onto archival boards. Most of these are either copies made from original images loaned to Special Collections, or copies from historical institutions. Also included are a few original images. The subject matter varies widely although there are numerous images from Logan and Cache Valley, Utah in general, Idaho, and Wyoming. Also included are images of the Union Pacific Railroad, the Southern Pacific Railroad, the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, the Western cattle industry, wagon freighting, and Mormon historical sites and buildings. Summary: | Photographs from the 1940s to the 1980s and photographic postcards with images from the 19th century. The majority are black & white silver gelatin prints, 8" x 10" or smaller, although there are a few color prints and a large number of postcards. There is a total of 105 photographs (11 in color), 126 black and white proof sheets, 59 postcards (1 in color), 76 black and white negatives, and 18 posters. The majority of the images range from 1960 to 1980 and consist of the various places and festivals where Agins performed, the people that he performed with, and photos used in the photo-essay, Round Legs. Also includes photographs of a portrait of Agins painted by John Henry Waddell. Many of the photos were taken by Frederica Agins, some by professional photographers and event photographers, and a few by Agins' fans. The postcards are reproductions of 19th century "old west" images including Buffalo Bill, Native Americans, cowboys, stagecoaches, etc. Many of the photographs have negatives. |

Summary: | The Agricultural College of Utah cyanotypes collection consists of 2,608 cyanotypes dating from 1896 to 1916. These images document the Agricultural College of Utah (now Utah State University) and show students, faculty, class-room scenes, buildings and grounds, events, experiment stations, athletics, student projects, agriculture, and scenes from around Logan. Because of preservation concerns they were removed from their original USU Agricultural Extension Service scrapbooks. The photographs were taken for documentation and publicity purposes. Many are found in the Experiment Station bulletins, A.C.U. catalogs, and other publications. Many of the photographs were taken by George M. Turpin, A.C.U. professor from 1909 to 1913. Who took the remainder of the images is unknown. |
