Includes some personal correspondence, contracts, awards, and memorabilia. Goodman is a Salt Lake City, Utah journalist and author whose primary interests include skiing, tourism, the development of national parks, and Utah architecture. He is the author of the weekly column "City View" in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Summary:The W. J. Goodwin papers (1919, 1923-1924) contain a logbook which documents two trips in which Goodwin participated as a University of Utah engineering student. The first trip was a summer tour of U.S. National Parks and Canada. The second trip was a mining trip to California. Also included is a paper by Ethel Smith that discusses the Canadian Industrial Disputes Act of 1910.

Summary:The Elizabeth Dennistoun Wood Kane diary consists of a photocopy from microfilm of the original. The diary documents Elizabeth Kane's travels from Salt Lake City to St. George, Utah and back. Material in the diary was later used by Kane in the writing of her book titled: Twelve Mormon homes visited in succession on a journey through Utah to Arizona.

Summary:The Ward Jay Roylance papers (1873-1993) are centered around Roylance (1920-1993), his family, and environmental issues. Included are publications, correspondence, writings, family histories, programs, tour maps and guide books, certificates, scrapbooks, notes, journals, biographies, news articles, medical and U.S. Army records, pamphlets, and postcards. Correspondence, family history typescripts, and poems collected by Roylance, as well as writings and publications by Roylance on environmental issues, are located in box 1 and date from the 1950s to 1992. Roylance spent most of his life advocating the preservation of scenic Utah. He was a founding member of the Utah Travel Council and a member of the Utah Tourism Hall of Fame.

Summary:The R. R. Stevens papers consists of bound drawings, route maps, and written details of a journey from Ute Springs, Utah, via the Blue Mountain region to Bluff City, Utah, under the command of Lt. Col. N. W. Osborne, 6th Infantry. The trip took place in September and October of 1885.

Utah Westerners records

Summary:The Utah Westerners records (1967-2009) includes the organization's bylaws and constitution, a calendar of events, lecture transcripts, correspondence, membership rosters, meeting minutes, field trip itineraries, completed questionnaires, membership applications, speech transcripts, and other documents. This collection also contains files kept by the Utah Westerners for two other organizations: the Fort Douglas Museum Association and Westerner's International. The Utah Westerners was organized in 1967. The major events of this all-male club are monthly lectures and annual field trips. These lectures and field trips allow club members to increase their knowledge of Western American history by addressing topics such as early Utah politics, Native Americans and westward expansion, Mormonism in the nineteenth century, and transportation, colonization, exploration, and communication in the West. The Utah Westerners holds its monthly lectures at the Alta Club in Salt Lake City.
