Beaty's father worked on the Grand Coulee Dam for the MWAK and collected their newsletters. The collection also includes a copy of William S. Shiach's History of North Idaho (1903), which was retained by Beaty's father because of genealogical interest.

The collection is comprised of Gustav Bliesner's scrapbooks, journals, correspondence, professional documents, office files, along with a large quantity of miscellaneous collected material, primarily printed ephemera.
