Summary:The Alice Gold and Silver Mining Company was a gold and silver mining operation in Walkerville, Montana. Its headquarters were in Salt Lake City, Utah. The records consist primarily of letterpress volumes of outgoing correspondence from Walkerville mine superintendents to Salt Lake City company officials. Also included are organizational materials, financial records, productions records, and legal files.

Summary:William Allen was a Wise River and Anaconda, Montana, mine owner, railroad builder and lieutenant governor. This collection (1903-1953) consist of general correspondence, legal documents, organization papers, and financial records of several of William R. Allen's companies. There are subgroups for 16 companies, including the Boston and Montana Development Company, the Boston-Montana Corporation, the French Gulch Mining Company, and the Montana Southern Railway Company. Beattie Company records

Summary: Edward W. Beattie (1847-1914) and his brother George D. Beattie (1857-1915) moved to Helena, Montana Territory, following the death of their brother, Alexander Beattie, in 1884, to manage their brother's estate. They invested widely in mining, ranching, and real estate, including the Rosebud Land and Improvement Company and the Silver Bow Park Addition. In 1913 their property was transferred to the Beattie Company, incorporated by A.L. Smith, Carl Rasch, and Milton S. Gunn. The Company continued to manage the property until the late 1920s. This collection (1872-1935) consists of eleven subgroups, including E.W. and G.D. Beattie (1872-1917),and The Beattie Company (1913-1928).

This collection (1886-1969) consists of business records for the Butte Land and Investment Company and its affiliate companies including the Brooklyn Mining Company; Daly Addition Company; Gibson Ranch Company; Montana Land and Securities Company; Salmon River Mining and Smelting Company; South Park Mining and Realty Company; Washington-Butte Mining Company; and Western Fuel Company. Also included are correspondence and financial records for the Kemper Family.

Summary:The Montana Ore Purchasing Company was a Butte, Montana, mining and smelting company owned by F. Augustus Heinze and John MacGinnis. The company was involved in a long court fight with the Anaconda Copper Mining Company, known as the "War of the Copper Kings." Records include incoming correspondence (1900-1910), outgoing correspondence (1905-1906), court papers, daily smelter reports (August 1905), two journals (1905), an order book (1905-1906), legal documents, and miscellany. There is a small subgroup (1901-1903) for the Butte Plumbing Company.

Summary: T.C. Power was a Montana merchandise, transportation, mining, ranching, banking, and real estate magnate; and U.S. Senator from Montana from 1890 to 1895. Collection (1868-1950) includes personal, business, and political correspondence plus financial and legal papers of many of his business enterprises. Collection documents Power's involvement in military and Indian trade, steamboating, freighting, stage coach lines, mail contracts, cattle and sheep ranching, mining, banking, bridge building, townsite development, and other enterprises.

The Valley Ditch Company subgroup includes correspondence (1957-1966), financial records (1945-1966), minutes (1906-1964) and other materials.
