Summary:During World War II, Glen Stemmons Coffield (1917-1981) was an intern at the famous Civilian Public Service (CPS) camp for conscientious objectors, Camp Waldport, whose Untide Press published two of his books of poems. Later, he was an active force in the Beat and San Francisco Renaissance scenes throughout his creative career. The Coffield Papers contain Coffield's essays, periodicals, plays, poems/poetry-books, prose and miscellaneous work.

Ben Hur Lampman papers

Summary:Ben Hur Lampman (1886-1954) worked as a compositor, printer, and editor in North Dakota, then as editor and publisher of the Gold Hill News in Gold Hill, Oregon (1912-1916). From 1916, he was an editorial writer for the Portland Oregonian and also wrote stories and essays for a variety of periodicals. He was designated Poet Laureate of Oregon in 1951. The collection contains manuscripts for books, poems, editorials, essays, correspondence with magazine editors, speeches, printed material, biographical material, photographs, and scrapbooks, 1912-1954.

Summary:Kim Stafford is a writer from the Pacific Northwest. His poetry and essays focus on the relationship of people with nature and social custom. Stafford places great value on folklore and bases much of the research for his own writing on the study of folk custom and oral history. He has taught and served as an artist-in-residence throughout the state of Oregon and in Washington, Idaho, and California. He regularly offers poetry readings and writing workshops and is active as a printer. The majority of the collection of Kim Stafford’s work encompasses books and other printed material, including periodicals and newspapers. Also included are photographs, videos, broadsides, and printed flyers.
