J. Neilson Barry was a researcher and prolific early writer of Pacific Northwest History. This collection contains correspondence that Barry kept during his research about the Lewis and Clark expedition from 1932-1937, with particular attention to the maps of expedition member John Colter.
Stanley Davison was a Montana historian who taught at Western Montana College in Dillon, Montana. The collection includes research files, photos and general correspondence with people assisting Davison's research. Davison was interested in early Montana history, primarily postal history and Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce.
