Collection Title:Singin' Sam Agins photograph collection

Summary:Photographs from the 1940s to the 1980s and photographic postcards with images from the 19th century. The majority are black & white silver gelatin prints, 8" x 10" or smaller, although there are a few color prints and a large number of postcards. There is a total of 105 photographs (11 in color), 126 black and white proof sheets, 59 postcards (1 in color), 76 black and white negatives, and 18 posters. The majority of the images range from 1960 to 1980 and consist of the various places and festivals where Agins performed, the people that he performed with, and photos used in the photo-essay, Round Legs. Also includes photographs of a portrait of Agins painted by John Henry Waddell. Many of the photos were taken by Frederica Agins, some by professional photographers and event photographers, and a few by Agins' fans. The postcards are reproductions of 19th century "old west" images including Buffalo Bill, Native Americans, cowboys, stagecoaches, etc. Many of the photographs have negatives.

Summary:3,900 prints and negatives (some in color) that document the family of S. George and Maria Smith Ellsworth from their ancestors in the 1860s to their immediate family in the 1990s. Included are images of LDS Church missions and activities, World War II, research and professional work, family portraits, vacations, and activities. Taken together it is perhaps the most complete visual documentation of a single family in Utah. The photos were taken at a variety of locations in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, New Mexico, Hawaii, Missouri, Australia, Lebanon, and the Philippines. Photograph formats include silver gelatin, albumen, realphoto postcards, and tintype. Negative formats include 35 mm and larger silver gelatin negatives, nitrate negatives (in cold storage), and glass negatives.

Summary:Thirty-two photographic images, including portraits of Hans Jacob Christiansen, Christian Marinus Peterson, and Christopher Haroldsen and family; as well as photographs of family and friends of LaNorma J. King (Oliver A. Jenson's daughter). There are also photographs of Oliver A. Jenson working with cement mixing crews in and around Logan, Utah, some 1937 photographs of Dan Berg camping at Round Mountain, Nevada, roping cattle, and a photograph of a fourth grade class at the Webster School in 1926.

Summary:216 images from the family of Cyrus E. and Mary Jane Napper. Most of the images were taken in Logan and Logan Canyon, Utah, although a few appear to be from Salt Lake City. Included are photographs of downtown Logan, the Logan Temple, Utah State University, bridges, parades, and members of the Napper family. Although most of the people in the photographs are not identified, Cyrus E., Mary Jane, Harry Felix, Doud Byron, Eiffel May and George C. Napper are probably included in the collection. The pictures were most likely taken by Harry Felix and his father Cyrus E. Napper between 1895 and 1905. Includes the original glass plate and nitrate negatives.

Summary:Forty-nine photographs collected by S.E. Needham, Sr. The subjects are mostly friends and associates of S.E. Needham, Sr.: including members of the Desanders and Allred family, Utah State University college students, two photos of Frank Fonnesbeck as a child, and a wedding photo of Kent and Rosalie Bunker in front of the LDS Temple, but don't appear to include either S.E. Needham Sr. or Jr. The oldest photographs date from the 1890s or around the turn of the century; the most recent photographs date from the 1950s.

Summary: Consists of "real photograph," linen, and various other types of postcards. Most of the images are of Utah or the Inter-mountain West and date from 1900 to 1940. Also includes portraits and images of Mormon religious and historic sites.

Summary:Black and white and color negatives, transparencies, and prints Many of these images document Utah State University campus buildings and activities from the 1930s through the late 1960s and many of which were published in the Buzzer yearbooks. Also included in the collection are images of Cache Valley; Southern Utah; Bear Lake; Mesa, Arizona; Santa Barbara, California; Park City, Utah; Salt Lake City; and examples of Reynold's pioneering use of photographic documentation for scientific and agricultural studies. Portraiture, still lifes, photographic color studies, art classes and workshops, personal photographs (many with the Stark family at Christmas), and various theater productions round out the remainder of the collection.
