Summary: | The Rankin family photograph collection includes 210 photographic prints from the John and Olive Rankin family of Missoula, Montana, dating from 1865 to 1973. Views include candid photographs and formal portraits of the Rankin's seven children, Jeannette, Philena, Harriet, Wellington, Mary, Grace, and Edna, as well as their families and homes. Jeannette Rankin, the oldest of the Rankin children and the first woman elected to the United States Congress, is most prominently represented in the collection with photographs from early childhood, her time at the University of Montana, portraits for campaigns, views while in office, personal photographs, and views from travel later in her life. |
