Summary:The collection consists primarily of autographed publicity portraits of music, theater, and movie personalities, given to Leone Cass Baer, ca. 1910-1921, when she was drama editor and critic for the Oregonian. A few are unsigned, including a photographic print on postcard stock of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Houdini, and a few are movie stills and scenes from theater productions.

Summary:The collection consists primarily of images photographed by Donald D. Burkhart, an avid mountaineer and skier, 1926-1933. The photographs provide extensive documentation of the Pacific Northwest landscape, with emphasis on the Oregon and Washington Cascade Mountains, the Columbia River Gorge, and the Oregon Coast. Of special note are documentation of mountaineering and early organized ski jumping events on Mt. Hood.

Summary:This collection consists of photographs taken by June D. Drake that mostly document the town of Silverton, Or. from circa 1900-1955. Includes portraits of townspeople and views of businesses, streets, organizations, and homes in Silverton and vicinity, as well as Mount Angel and Salem, Or., and photographs of agriculture, the lumber industry, and transportation, among many other subjects. Of special interest are Drake's photos of the area now known as Silver Falls State Park, which he helped to establish.

Summary:This collection contains photographs taken by Oregon photographers Martin M. Hazeltine and his brother, George I. Hazeltine. Martin M. Hazeltine was one of the early photographers of Yosemite and traveled from California to Alaska making photographs before settling down in Baker City, Or., later in his career. George settled in Canyon City, Or., in the 1860s and photography became one of his many enterprises. Martin M. Hazeltine's photographs make up the bulk of the collection and depict scenic views of Alaska, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Yellowstone National Park.

Summary:This collection contains photographs, papers, and diaries pertaining to the Peter and Laurie King Kerr family and the Thomas and Mabel Macleay Kerr family of Portland, Oregon. The bulk of the photographs were taken at Peter Kerr's Elk Rock estate in Portland and on various family trips. The diaries and papers include Peter Kerr's diaries, a scrapbook, a letterpress copybook and a diary and letters by Mrs. Lucretia Colton.

Summary:Ranging in date from 1942 to 1946, the Margaret McLeod Papers consist of .5 cubic feet of correspondence, brochures, photographs, certificates, reports, newspaper clippings, and ephemera created and collected by McLeod during her service with the American National Red Cross. During World War II, McLeod worked in the European Theater with the group's Club Service, a program that provided soldiers with food, recreation, and entertainment. McLeod's collection provides a vivid portrait of life for Club Service workers, documenting not only the achievements of the Red Cross's Clubmobiles and clubs in England, France and Germany, but also the personal frustrations and triumphs of the women who ran them.

Summary:This collection documents many of the productions, actors, staff, and special events of the Portland Civic Theatre company in Portland, Or., circa 1925 to 1994. Most of the collection consists of production photographs of shows throughout the history of the company. The images were produced by many photographers, including a set of signed photographic prints of actors by Minor White, ca. 1940. The collection also includes images from Junior Civic Theatre productions and the Portland Civic Theatre (P.C.T.) Academy.
