Dr. Martin's areas of specialty included the socio-cultural history of the United States, the history and literature of the American frontier, American environmental history, and Indian-White relations in American history. This special collection contains 16 boxes of manuscript materials relating mostly to Native Americans in the Northwest. Box 15 in the collection contains various small objects, such as arrowheads. While most of the donation consisted of monographs that were added to the Library's holdings, the collection also included manuscript materials described within this document. |

He began his medical career in March 1907 at the Ashland Sanitarium, joining the founder of the sanitarium, Dr. Joseph Herndon. He became a prominent member of his field. The collection consists of 34 journals spanning 1890-1937, a doctor's call book, a record book, and twelve family photographs, clippings, financial documents, and other miscellanea. |

Summary: | The collection contains papers, correspondence, photographs, clippings, and postcards reflecting Arnold Paul Jenny life and work. For many years Jenny was director of World Y Tours, operated by the International Committee of the YMCAs of the United States and Canada. During World War II Jenny met a young pre-medical student named Hans Mueller. During a year in Siberia during the Russian Revolution as YMCA representative with the American Expeditionary Forces, he developed a lifelong interest in photography. Well after retirement, he gave illustrated lectures about his travels to a wide variety of audiences. Jenny began editing a poetry column in the Medford Mail Tribune. "Poet's Corner" debuted in 1961 and continued until 1975. |
