Royal G. Jackson Papers

Summary:The Royal G. Jackson Papers consist of materials created or assembled by Jackson in the course of his research. The bulk of the materials pertain to the history of the Oregon State University College of Forestry, McDonald – Dunn Research forest, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Arboretum, and nature-based tourism in central Oregon and Costa Rica. The papers include extensive oral history sound recordings and photographs, in addition to manuscripts, publications and reference materials. Jackson was a faculty member in the Oregon State University College of Forestry from 1970 until 2004.

Summary:The Lora Lemon Scrapbook consists of photographs, clippings, and ephemera assembled by Lemon documenting the student years of herself and her husband, E.B. Lemon, at Oregon Agricultural College in the early 1900s, as well as their continued involvement in the Oregon State College community through the 1950s. Lora Lemon graduated from OAC in 1908; E.B. Lemon graduated in 1911 and was a faculty member and administrator at Oregon State from 1911 until his retirement in 1959.

Robert E. McDole Papers

Summary:The Robert E. McDole Papers consist of materials created or assembled by McDole during his undergraduate student years at Oregon State College, as a graduate student in soil science at the University of Idaho, and in the course of his work as a soil scientist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the University of Idaho. McDole earned a BS in soils from Oregon State College in 1952 and MS and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Idaho in 1968 and 1969.

Summary:The Registrar's Office Records document in extensive detail student enrollment, academic programs and degrees granted, admissions, tuition and fees, scholarships and honors, and academic regulations and procedures at Oregon State University. The Records also document military training and the National Youth Administration employment program for Oregon State students. The Registrar's Office was established in 1903; Professor John B. Horner was the first Registrar for Oregon State.
